Many of my clients struggle with giving up coffee.
Here's some good reasons why you should try:
Coffee can deplete you of nutrients. Too much coffee can deplete us of B vitamins, which are essential for the nervous system and energy. Excessive coffee drinking also prevents magnesium and iron absorption. All these nutrients are used to make energy in the body, so whilst you think you're giving yourself a lift, you're actually giving yourself the opposite long term effect.
Drinking coffee puts a burden on your liver and so effects your ability to detoxify.
Coffee crops are heavily sprayed in pesticides.
Coffee is acid-forming in the body.
Coffee stresses the adrenal glands. Adrenal stress may lead to lack of sleep, chronic fatigue and other stress related illnesses illnesses.
If you really don't think you can give up coffee, at least straight away anyway, here are some better ways to drink it:
Always drink organic coffee! - If not you are poisoning yourself with chemicals. Remember decaffeinated coffee is just as bad.
If you have to use your Nespresso machine, switch to Cru Kafe - Organic, sustainable and fully recyclable Nespresso compatible coffee capsules .https://www.crukafe.com/about-us.
Try coffee alternatives - such as green tea or yerba mate (tea containing caffeine).
Do you drink milky coffee? - if so, switch to a non dairy milk, almond or hemp milk work well.. Believe it or not, even though dairy is alkaline, it is acid-forming in the body.
